I Am A Lot Girlier Than I First Thought

In case the title (and the image) gives you the wrong idea…

Let me get you up to speed.

A few days ago I wrote about how fewer boys read books because they think they are “girly”…

And how this attitude can give you an instant advantage as an Internet Marketer.

Comprende?

My reading habits appear to be a subject of great interest given the number of emails from subscribers I’ve received asking about them.

So, here are some of the books I’m getting stuck into right now:

Celebrity, Inc.

Author: Jo Piazza

This book gives a fascinating insight into how celebrities make their money and it’s packed full of useful tips we can take away as Internet Marketers.

I’ve written several posts based on the content of this book, most recently involving Kim Kardashian.

Eat That Frog

Author: Brian Tracy

I’ve owned this book for a year or more now and it’s about how to beat procrastination.

It’s one I always dip into when I’m not feeling as productive as I should.

As Internet Marketers, our biggest enemy is the clock and Brian helps me get back on track.

Chronic Marketer

Author: Brad Gosse

Brad is living proof that you can have a smash hit on your hands if you go down the self-publishing route.

This is an interesting and often funny account of how Brad made it as an Internet Marketer and I was mentioned in the acknowledgements too.

Which is nice.

Make ‘Em Laugh & Take Their Money

Author: Dan Kennedy

I’ve only just started reading this book so don’t have a huge amount to report.

But, as a marketer who uses “infotainment” every single day, I am sure the master of using humour in his copywriting has much he can teach me.

I will report back with more when I have delved into it a little deeper.

Soccernomics

Authors: Simon Kuper & Stefan Szymanski

This book is like “Freakonomics” but gives a thought-provoking insight into soccer, one of my big passions.

I only downloaded the free sample chapter for my Kindle but I loved it!

I will purchase the full version of the book very soon.

I, Partridge

Author: Alan Partridge

Another I have only just started, this is the autobiography of Alan Partridge, the fictional radio DJ created by comedian Steve Coogan.

The first chapter is very funny and as I’m reading, I imagine the words being spoken in Alan’s irritating voice.

11/22/63: A Novel

Author: Stephen King

I actually read this book over Christmas – it took a few days of solid effort as it’s quite long.

It’s about a teacher who goes back in time to try and stop the JFK assassination.

I really enjoyed it and found out recently it’s going to be made into a movie.

I can smugly comment “the book was better” after I go to see it…

If books are for girls – then my male chromosomes need a recount!

But, you can take advantage of my apparent effeminateness…

I use the books I read as inspiration for some of the 20+ “fill in the blanks” email marketing templates you can download each month as an Inbox Rockstar member.

I do the reading…

You make the money.
