5 Things Celebrities Can Teach Us About Internet Marketing

I’ve enjoyed reading Celebrity Inc. by Jo Piazza.

It’s taught me a lot about how celebrities earn their money and despite what the media would have you believe, these people are not dumb…

Nor are the fortunes they have made an “accident” or down to “luck”.

As Internet Marketers, both you and I could do a lot worse than apply the same strategies the celebrities use in our own businesses.

Here are five of the best tips I’ve taken from the book:

1. Fill A Gap In The Market

If Kim Kardashian did one thing very well to spawn her celebrity career…

It was make herself available.

The rise of digital and online media meant fans craved up-to-the-minute news.

Kim positioned herself as the “next best thing” to a bona fide celebrity and gave the news agencies with advertising to sell something to report on.

2. Build a List

It’s not just us Internet Marketers who should focus on list building…

Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher championed it too.

His entire strategy to make money online was to obtain a large number of followers in social media then sell himself as a distribution platform for brands to sell their product to them.

It worked – he became the first Twitter user to reach one million followers.

3. Be Consistent

To succeed as an Internet Marketer, choose a persona and stick with it…

Your followers crave consistency.

You don’t have to play the caring/sharing type like everybody else does either.

Bad-boy actor Charlie Sheen has earned millions of dollars off the back of his erratic behaviour and even after he was booted off Two and a Half Men, the deals continued to roll in.

4. Work Hard

Internet Marketing is sold as an easy, “push button” lifestyle…

But you don’t get to lazily sip margaritas by the pool without hundreds of hours of hard work first!

Former American Idol winner Taylor Hicks was dropped by his record label but he self-produced a second album and went on a gruelling 18-month tour of Grease to help promote it.

He hand-sold 100,000 copies and earned $3.5 million – all of which was his.

5. Leverage Your Fame

If you achieve any sort of success, however small, as an Internet Marketer, you will always be a “little bit famous” in the industry.

So, even if things start to go wrong you can always leverage your “fame” and turn things around.

It got pretty desperate for former American Idol contestant, Jessica Sierra, who ended up working at Hooters but her “fame” got her a stint on Celebrity Rehab and she went on to command $5,000 per personal appearance.

There’s no reason why you can’t follow this simple, five-step plan and earn a significant income as an Internet Marketer…

And email is the perfect promotional vehicle.

As an Inbox Rockstar member, you will never run out of topics, angles or marketing content…

Because every month you can download a minimum of 20 “fill in the blanks” email marketing templates which can be used to promote any product in any niche.

P.S. Another chapter in the book was about how Spencer Pratt (of The Hills fame) engineered his own success and earned millions of dollars by the time he reached his mid twenties.
